The National Black MBA Association, Inc. (NBMBAA) is a non-profit organization of minority MBAs, business professionals, entrepreneurs and MBA students. With thousands of members world-wide working in both private and public sectors, we share a commitment to education and business—the two principal keys to the economic development of the Black community.

Our geographical diversity is strong, encompassing 44 chapters in the United States and members at-large in Africa, Europe, Asia/Pacific and Latin America.

 

Primary goals of the Charlotte, NC organization are:

 

To establish and maintain an effective information and communications network, which will serve the membership and the business communit

To serve as a conduit between business enhancement resources and individual

To disseminate current information affecting minorities who operate in the business environment

To provide professional education in business related areas in the form of seminars, classes, group discussions and pertinent publications

To provide scholarships to minorities to attend institutions of higher learning, and to capture information on scholarship availability for business students.

 

The NBMBAA Charlotte Chapter was established in 1995 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Incorporated in 1995, which consists of over 200 African-American professionals with graduate degrees in a variety of disciplines including marketing, finance, accounting, human resources, information technology, law, and management.

 

The Chapter’s vision is promoting intellectual and economic wealth within the Mecklenburg County community. We provide a broad range of activities to meet the diverse needs of its membership and the Charlotte community. Events include: guest lecture series, professional development seminars, networking activities, corporate receptions, and numerous student development and scholarship programs.

 

Mission:

To increase the number as well as the diversity of successful Blacks in the business community by providing innovative programs to stimulate intellectual and economic growth


Building partnerships with key stakeholders who help facilitate this growth


Increasing awareness and access to graduate management, education programs and career opportunities


Developing a pipeline of youth by providing a framework to deploy business practices
