The Charlotte Chapter of the National Black MBA Association is now opening up nominations for submission for elections to all Chapter Officer positions.

The Chapter invites you to nominate NBMBAA Charlotte Chapter members as candidates for leadership service in adherence with the vision, mission, and objectives of the Chapter. These individuals will be considered by the Nominations Committee for election to the Executive Board to a two-year term. Elected members will hold office from January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024.

The Chapter is accepting candidates/nominations from our general membership for the following Executive Board positions:

• President: Article 3, Section 3.3.A
• VP of Administration: Article 3, Section 3.3.B
• VP of Future Leadership Development: Article 3, Section 3.3.C
• VP of Professional Growth & Development: Article 3, Section 3.3.E
• VP of Strategic Partnerships: Article 3, Section 3.3.F
• VP of Finance and Entrepreneurship: Article 3, Section 3.3.D

Qualifications:

All NBMBAA Executive Board nominees must be a member of NBMBAA Charlotte chapter and demonstrate commitment to the mission of the NBMBAA Charlotte Chapter.

Experience/Competencies:

All nominees should possess the following:

• Non-profit, working board leadership experience.
• Business experience in areas, such as operations, finance, IT, HR, supply chain, marketing, etc.
• A minimum of four (4) years business experience in the private, public or educational sectors.

Board Time Commitment:

The Executive Board meets approximately twelve (12) times per year. The Leadership team also meets approximately twelve (12) times per year. The Charlotte Chapter of the NBMBAA holds approximately 20 events annually. Board terms are two (2) years.

Elections Process:

The 2023 - 2024 Executive Board elections will take place in December 2022.

Nominations should be sent via email to elections@nbmbaacharlotte.org no later than 6:00 PM Eastern Time on Sunday, November, 20, 2022. 

Each member may elect a maximum of one (1) candidate for each office. A member can nominate himself/herself. Members may nominate themselves. Please confirm your nominee’s interest prior to submitting his or her name for consideration.

Submissions must also be accompanied by a full biography, along with the nominees top three (3) goals and/or priorities for the chapter. 

The Elections Committee will evaluate each nominee’s eligibility and qualifications. Each nominee will be contacted by the Elections Committee to confirm interest, eligibility and availability. The final slate of Executive Board nominations will be presented to the General Body no later than Sunday, November 27, 2022. 

Chapter elections will be via electronic ballot in December 2022.
